Hundreds of children and their parents gathered at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu on Sunday, 14 December 2025, for the Enugu Children’s Christmas Party, a special Christmas outreach organised by the Araceli Aid Foundation in collaboration with the Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The event was aimed at spreading joy, care, and the spirit of sharing among children during the Christmas season.
The celebration opened with a prayer led by young children, setting a warm and joyful tone for the day’s activities. This was followed by a lively dance competition involving five children, both boys and girls, which delighted the audience. One child emerged as the winner and was presented with gifts, while all participating children received encouragement and applause from parents and guests.
The choir later took the stage to render Christmas songs, adding a festive atmosphere to the celebration. Many gifts were distributed to children, reinforcing the organisers’ commitment to making Christmas memorable for every child present. The programme also featured a colourful traditional dance performance by a masquerade, which drew excitement and admiration from the crowd.
In a moment that further energized the audience, mothers were invited onto the stage to dance, creating a joyful bond between parents and children and reflecting the family-centered spirit of the celebration.
Several popular entertainers were present at the event, including Caz Chidiebere, Ugonna, Kingswill, MC De Concept, and Nani Boi, all of whom contributed to the lively atmosphere. A major highlight of the celebration was the appearance of child star Adakirikiri, who performed and interacted warmly with the children.
Adakirikiri is the stage name of Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo, a fast-rising Nigerian teen actress and gospel singer from Owerri, Imo State. She began acting at the age of seven and gained popularity through comedy series such as Chief Emo and Sister Maggi. She also creates family-friendly content on her YouTube channel, promoting decency and positive values.
After a group photograph with children and priests present at the event, Adakirikiri performed songs from her music projects, further exciting the young audience.
Among the clergy present were Rev. Fr. Christian Iroha, the Director of Araceli Aid Foundation; Msgr. Prof. Obiorah Ike; Rev. Fr. Prof. Leo Chidi Ilechukwu, Ag. Vice-Chancellor; Rev. Prof. Felix Ugwuozor, the Pro- Chancellor of Peaceland University Enugu. Other priests were also in attendance, lending moral and spiritual support to the outreach.
The Enugu Children’s Christmas Party stood out as a social and humanitarian outreach rather than a liturgical programme, focusing on entertainment, sharing, and community bonding. Through music, dance, gifts, and performances, the organisers succeeded in creating a joyful Christmas experience for children in Enugu.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the Araceli Aid Foundation and its partners to promoting child welfare, happiness, and community support, especially during the Christmas season.
