The Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Valentine Onaga, alongside the Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Ernest Obodo, on Sunday, 14 December 2025, celebrated Christmas with members of the Enugu Diocesan Catholic Women Organization (CWO).
The celebration commenced with a Holy Mass at the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu. The Mass was concelebrated by the Diocesan CWO Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Michael Eze; the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Wilfred Agubuchie; and the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Fr. Raphael Ozonwafor.
In his homily, Bishop Onaga encouraged the women to embrace the true spirit of Christmas through faith, service, and love of neighbour, while commending the CWO for their commitment to the growth of the Church and support for family life in the diocese.
Bishop Obodo also urged the women to remain steadfast in their apostolate and to continue being witnesses of Christian charity in society.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the event moved to the Jubilee Hall, where the CWO hosted the bishops and invited guests in a joyful atmosphere marked by songs, cultural displays, and goodwill messages.
Highlight of the celebration was the presentation of donations and support to the women by Mr. Paul Erinne, a philanthropist and founder of the Paul Erinne Foundation. His gesture was warmly appreciated by the bishops and the CWO leadership, who described it as a practical expression of Christmas charity.
The event drew a large turnout of CWO members from across the diocese and underscored the spirit of unity, thanksgiving, and sharing that characterizes the Christmas season.
