On the third day of his Apostolic Journey to Türkiye, Pope Leo XIV and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I pray the Doxology and sign a Joint Declaration at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul.
“The goal of Christian unity,” they say in the Declaration, “includes the objective of contributing in a fundamental and life-giving manner to peace among all peoples. Together we fervently raise our voices in invoking God’s gift of peace upon our world.”
They also invoked blessings upon the people.
