Abakaliki Diocese Honors Bishop Michael Nnachi Okoro with Triple Celebration

The Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, celebrated a historic triple milestone in honor of Bishop Michael Nnachi Okoro, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese. The grand celebration marked his 85th birthday, 60th anniversary of priestly ordination, and 46th anniversary as a bishop.

 

The event drew a distinguished gathering of Church leaders, including Archbishop Valerian Okeke, Cardinal Peter Okpaleke, Bishop Callistus Onaga, Bishop John Okeye, Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor, and numerous other bishops and priests. Prominent political leaders—among them past and present governors of Ebonyi State—also joined the celebration.

Delivering the homily, Bishop Geoffrey Onah praised Bishop Okoro for nearly five decades of faithful leadership, describing him as a visionary shepherd whose dedication shaped not only the Diocese of Abakaliki but the development of Ebonyi State as a whole.

 

The Diocese expressed deep gratitude to all who honored Bishop Okoro on this momentous occasion, praying for God’s blessings upon all attendees.
