Pope Leo XIV on the evening of November 3, 2025, at around 8:05 PM Rome time, visited the Basilica of St. Mary Maggiore, offered a prayer at the tomb of his predecessor, late Pope Francis, and placed a bouquet of white rose on his tomb. He also prayed before the icon of Salus Populi Romani, where his predecesoor usually visited, before departing to Castle Gandolfo.
