Priests of Enugu Diocese Hold Annual Lenten Recollection in Spirit of Jubilee Year of Hope

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the clergy of Enugu Diocese, led by Bishop Most Rev. C.V.C Onaga and Auxiliary Bishop Most Rev. Ernest Obodo, gathered at the Pastoral-Catechetical Centre in UgwuDiNso, Eke, for their annual Lenten Recollection. The event, held in the spirit of the Lenten season and the Jubilee Year of Hope 2025, began with a solemn Stations of the Cross, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, meditation, and adoration.

Rev. Fr. Michael Chime delivered the recollection talk, focusing on the significance of the Jubilee Year of Hope for the diocese. He emphasized the importance of hope and faith during this special year.

Following the spiritual exercises, Dr. Ike Chioke, Chairman of the Enugu State Security Trust Fund, addressed the clergy. He highlighted the state government’s efforts to combat insecurity and discussed potential collaborations between the government and the Church to enhance security in the region.

The event provided a moment of spiritual renewal for the clergy while also addressing pressing societal issues, reflecting the Church’s commitment to both faith and community development.
