Life of the Saints

Today’s Saint: St. Leobinus

In the rolling hills of rural France, a young peasant boy named Leobinus embarked on a remarkable journey of spiritual growth and leadership. Born into a humble family, Leobinus toiled in the fields while yearning for knowledge and enlightenment. He pursued an education at the monastery of Noailles, where he studied fervently by candlelight.

Leobinus’s determination and piety caught the attention of Saint Carilef, who introduced him to Saint Avitus. Under Avitus’s guidance, Leobinus immersed himself in a life of prayer and contemplation. However, his peaceful existence was disrupted by war, and Leobinus endured torture rather than betraying his brethren.

Despite the challenges, Leobinus remained steadfast in his faith. He was ordained as a bishop and went on to lead his community with compassion and wisdom. Saint Leobinus’s legacy endures as a shining example of service, sacrifice, and devotion. His feast day is celebrated on March 14.
