Following the conclusion of the Lenten Spiritual Exercises on the morning of Friday, 14 March 2025, the Marian prayer for Pope Francis will once again take place in St. Peter’s Square.
The Rosary prayer, scheduled for 7:30 PM, is open to all who wish to participate. Each evening, several dozen faithful—including laypeople, priests, and religious—have gathered to pray for the Holy Father’s recovery as he continues treatment for bilateral pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. The prayer service is also livestreamed worldwide on Vatican News channels.
Originally held at 9:00 PM, the Rosary was moved to the Paul VI Hall during the past week to accommodate the Roman Curia’s annual Spiritual Exercises.
On 6 March, Pope Francis sent an audio message from the hospital, which was broadcast in the square. “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health,” he said. “May God bless you.”
