St. Colette was a French nun who lived in the 15th century. Born in 1380, she became an orphan at a young age and was raised by her relatives.
At 21, Colette had a profound spiritual experience that led her to dedicate her life to God. She became a Franciscan nun and soon realized that the Order had strayed from its original ideals.
With permission from the Pope, Colette embarked on a mission to reform the Franciscan Order. She traveled throughout France, establishing new convents and reviving the original spirit of the Order.
Colette’s reform movement was met with resistance, but she persevered, relying on her deep faith and prayer. Through her efforts, the Franciscan Order was revitalized, and Colette became known for her remarkable spiritual leadership.
St. Colette’s story is a testament to the power of faith, courage, and determination. She was canonized a saint on May 24,1807 by Pope Pius the XII and remains an inspiration to people around the world.
