Enugu Diocese today 1st June celebrated the ordination of 15 new deacons in a solemn ceremony officiated by the Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Ernest Obodo.
The ceremony, which combined spiritual devotion with tradition, was attended by clergy, relatives, and well-wishers.
In his homily, Bishop Obodo emphasized the critical role of deacons in the Church. He urged the newly ordained to remain steadfast in their calling, highlighting the increasing demands and opportunities as the Church continues to grow on multiple fronts. “Your commitment and dedication are vital as we expand our mission and service,” he said.
The ordination saw the new deacons taking their vows, a significant step in their spiritual journey and service to the Church. The Enugu Diocese warmly welcomed them into God’s vineyard, recognizing the importance of their roles in the Church’s mission and community life.
