The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, undertook a significant Episcopal pastoral visit to Immaculate Conception Parish, Green Land Abakpa Nike, on Sunday, February 4th. This visit marked his second appearance in recent times, where he bestowed blessings upon the newly completed Parish House Edifice and administered the sacrament of confirmation to an impressive number of over 590 candidates.
During an interview with The Choice Flame Newspaper, Rev. Fr. Dr. Johnmacartan Abuchi Atukosi, the Parish Priest, expressed profound joy at the Bishop’s visit and the successful completion and blessing of the state-of-the-art Parish House. Fr. Atukosi shared his satisfaction at having initiated and overseen the project’s completion within a record time frame. The project, which commenced three years ago, showcased remarkable quality despite the challenges posed by the community’s predominantly low-income demographic.
Describing the Parish House as the pinnacle of architectural excellence in Enugu, Fr. Atukosi extended gratitude to his family, the traditional ruler of Ibagwa, and numerous other benefactors whose generous contributions ensured the project’s success.
Bishop Onaga, who had previously visited to dedicate the church, commended the unwavering faith of the Parish’s congregation. He offered prayers for the continued growth and steadfastness of the parishioners in their journey of faith.
The visit of Bishop Onaga and the consecration of the Parish House stand as testament to the resilience and dedication of the Immaculate Conception Parish community, marking a significant milestone in their spiritual journey and commitment to serving God and their community.
