The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, delivered a heartening message on the joy of Christmas during the Blessing of a new Chapel of Adoration at Christ the King Parish, GRA, Enugu, yesterday, December 20th, 2023. The occasion also marked the Parish Feast and the commencement of the Christmas Festival.
In his brief homily, His Lordship emphasized that the joy of Christmas is a perpetual feeling, rooted in the expression of love. He highlighted the connection between the incarnation of God and the open expression of love, stating that “true love will always give you joy.” His Lordship reiterated that the festive season is a time when the manifestation of joy and the demonstration of love are particularly prominent.
The Bishop expressed gratitude for the swift construction of the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration and acknowledged the efforts of the parishioners. He specifically thanked the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Longinus Ugonwa, for his leadership in bringing the project to fruition.
As part of his message, His Lordship offered a prayer for the congregation, seeking that the love and joy of Christmas permeate their lives and interactions, urging them to radiate these sentiments to one another throughout the festive season.
