“There are terrible people everywhere.” Cynthia Morgan calls out Jude Okoye.

Following the recent passing of Nigerian singer Mohbad, allegations and disclosures regarding unethical behavior in the nation’s entertainment industry have surfaced.

 

Cynthia Morgan, a singer, took aim at Jude Okoye, the head of her former label, saying that how she was treated made her give up on humanity. Morgan has previously accused Okoye’s Northside Entertainment of financial and contractual irregularities.

“Till Date Jude cannot see me eyeball for eyeball. There are terrible people everywhere. You too have to be brutal. And just know people will never lie on you if they aren’t scared of you.” She wrote

In the wake of Mohbad, producer Samklef also made a statement, stating that despite helping Banky W launch the careers of WizKid and others, he had been purposely ignored for years.

 

Wizkid allegedly had to “fight” for equitable treatment and to leave Banky’s Empire Mates Entertainment, according to Samklef. EME and Banky W have not yet responded to these allegations.

The claims, which have gone unanswered by the accused music business officials, further illuminate the industry’s grim future in the wake of Mohbad’s collapse and destruction.

Some labels appear to use their influence against talent despite making stars. But more and more musicians are speaking out against purported exploitation.
