As part of the activities to mark the visit of Labour Party Presidential Candidate His Excellency Peter Obi to Enugu State last Thursday a town Hall meeting was organized by the Peter Obi Campaign Council Women wing in Conjunction with the labour Party Enugu State. Surv, ONYEJIUWA PHILOMENA, the PCC coordinator in Enugu State, who also doubles as the woman leader of Ezeagu LGA in Enugu State, was very visible at the event and spoke to the media about why women should be active in politics.
She said that the town hall meeting with the theme “Women for a New Nigeria” was the needed tonic to properly address the issue. The event was attended by the wives of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate and Vice Presidential Candidate, Ms. Margaret Obi and Ms. Datti Ahmed respectively. Also in attendance were the national labour party woman leaders, and a host of other women, including former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Fidelis Njeze, who coordinated the event.
However, with the recent Court of Appeal judgement on labour Party Governorship candidate for Enugu State Philomena noted that there was no doubt that Barrister Chijioke Edeoga was the candidate and that with the court ruling the coast is now clear for the party to go all out and win the coming election in March 2023.
She used the opportunity to advise all women to ensure that they go all out to pick up their PVCS to be part of the effort to make a change in the leadership of the State and expect a new Nigeria.
