‘Pray and Fast relentlessly’: A Bishop’s Station of the Cross mantra engulfs Enugu Diocese

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga has called for continuous prayer for Nigeria, her leaders and its people.

As Catholics and Christians across the globe observe the 2022 Lenten season, the call for prayer and supplication has resonated from the Church leadership as the Conference of Bishops in the country have continued to urge the faithful to be fervent in prayer.

This is coming at the time when there is ensuing conflict in Europe as Russia Invades Ukraine as well as the widespread insecurity, debilitating governance structure and biting poverty in Nigeria.

Bishop Onaga speaking passionately during the weekly Friday’s stations of the Cross as a bothered father over the growing discontentment in the country called on the faithful to intensify their prayers and fasting during this Lenten period  for Nigeria. Buttressing the ever efficacy of a fervent prayers offered to God in all sincerity of heart, he urged all to pray with faith and with the assurance that though things might be difficult right now, but God shall intervene at the right time in Nigeria.

His Lordship has been at the forefront in the leading the faithful in this year’s Lenten Season Station of Cross. This has been a source of hope and encouragement to the faithful in Enugu Diocese.
