Knights of St. Mulumba admits new members in Enugu

The Order of Knights of St. Mulumba Onitsha Metropolitan District on Sunday 27th March presented and admitted in new members of the order. The event took place at Sacred Heart Parish, Uwani Enugu amongst Priests and the faithful.

In his homily, the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Parish, Rev. Fr. Dr. Benjamin Eze emphasized on the ever unwavering love and forgiving nature of God. Citing the story of the prodigal son, he noted that it is one of the greatest story ever told, one which signifies the love , accommodating and deep forgiving nature of God our father.

He noted that even with the selfish nature of man as portrayed by the prodigal son in his stubbornness and defiance at the initial stage, God sees it fit to allow us express our freedom and in our foolishness forgives us and accepts us back.

Father Benjamin observed that most often our sins takes us far away from God just like the prodigal son, however, when we retrace our steps and sincerely seek for atonement and the forgiveness of God, he is ever ready and faithful in giving us a second chance.

“In his moment of truth, the prodigal son realized his mistakes, came back to his senses and returned for forgiveness. God is always ready for us whenever we realize our sinful state and return to him”, Fr. Benjamin urged.

Founded in Onitsha, Anambra State on the 14th of June, 1953 with the name The Order of the Knight of Blessed Mulumba the Knights of Saint Mulumba has continued to live true to her calling.

This, Fr. Benjamin observed as he praised the Knights for deeming it fit to choose Sacred Heart Parish Uwani for the admission ceremony.

The Knights of St. Mulumba was founded on the principle of Catholic Action and modeled after the sacred Order of Catholic Knighthood. Currently, there are over 10,772 members.

The event saw new members take the oath of membership, fully admitted and hooded as bonafide members of the Knight family.

The swearing in ceremony was performed by Rev. Fr. Dr. Liberatus Isife, the Rector, St. Bernard Seminary Hostel, Nchatancha who is also the Chaplain of the Knights of St. Mulumba.
