The menace of commercial tricycle operators, bus drivers and road side traders has gotten to an alarming rate in many parts of Enugu urban.
It currently looks like a free for all scenario as no one checkmates their activities.
It has become total madness at Holy Ghost, Old Park, Amechi Junction, Mayor Bus Stop, Garriki, Liberty and Texaco bus tops in Abakpa and many other major parks and bus stops in the state. The madness becomes more exasperated in the evening.
This has gotten to an annoying level where other road users have started voicing their frustrations and are appealing to the state government to rise to the occasion to exert control on the activities of the commercial operators.
Speaking to Inside Coal City, a road user who only gave his name as Uche appealed to state government to as a matter of urgency come to the rescue of other road users who are now at the mercy of thee unruly road side traders, commercial tricycle operators and their bus counterparts.
“I want to appeal to my state government to create a task force that will check the reckless of tricycles and traffic officers at Amechi junction along Agbani Road and the trading activities between Kenneth junction and Mayor bus-stop. These people are making life miserable for their fellow road users and they are proud doing so”, he said.
Essentially, there activities have made life hell for other road users and people are patiently waiting and perhaps hoping for the government’s timely intervention.
