Following his many active years in service to humanity , Msgr. Prof. Obiora has been honored in Europe by the German based Stephanus Foundation.
Msgr. Obiora Ike who is currently the Executive Director of Global Ethics Centre (GlobEthics.net) based in Geneva Switzerland was awarded the Stephanus Foundation Prize for his great efforts for the less privileged.
Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike is a Professor of Ethics and intercultural studies at the Godfrey Okoye University in Enugu State, Nigeria .
He is the founding Director of the Catholic Institute of Development, Justice, Peace and Caritas (CIDJAP); as well as the chairman of the Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee.
His recent achievement is not surprising judging from the many years of impeccable service he has rendered both as a Priest and as a humanitarian which has served as a catalyst to his spreading influence across borders.

According to her website www.stephaanus.org, Stephanus foundation known in Germany as Stephanus-Stiftung was founded in 1878 Berlin, Germany.
It is a non-profit diaconal foundation that provides social services for people in special circumstances. It may be people of old age, housing and work opportunities for people with disabilities or mental illness, as well as services for children, adolescents and families.
It also is responsible for providing education for children, adolescents and adults, hospice services and services for refuges.
It has always taken responsibility where other organizations have withdrawn. Thus, the work for disadvantaged, excluded, old, sick or disabled people could develop steadily thanks to courageous foresight.
Despite being renamed several times, the Stephanus Foundation has resisted all the threatening challenges posed by political changes in German history since its inception.

Born in Gusau, present day capital of Zamfara State, Reverend Monsignor Professor Dr. Obiora Ike, is a Catholic Priest, scholar, publisher and author. He is an acknowledged and sought after public speaker and bridge builder across religions, cultures and continents. He is also a human rights activist and development practitioner. Since 1st July 2016, he was appointed the Executive Director of Global Ethics Centre (GlobEthics.net) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Dr. Ike studied from 1975 to 1986 in Nigeria, Austria, Germany, France and UK and holds degrees in philosophy, theology , economics, journalism and political science.
He gained his doctorate degree in Bonn, Germany, with a specialization in Ethics. Professor Dr. Ike has held several positions of service in Church, Society and State within Africa and in Europe. As founder of a number of educational and development organizations in Nigeria, including the Catholic Institute for Development Justice, Peace and Caritas (CIDJAP), the Prisoners Legal Education and Assistance Scheme and the Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs Training Association.
He has served as Chairman of the leading Umuchinemere Procredit Microfinance Bank Ltd. Enugu, Nigeria as well as chairperson of 27 organizations.
Msgr. Ike has held several academic posts as Professor at the Wolfgang Goether University, Franfurt/Germany and at the Theological Faculty Tilburg, The Netherlands. Most recently” he is Professor of Ethics and Intercultural Studies, Godfrey Okoye University, Nigeria and is Chairman of Enugu state Government Economic Advisory Committee.
