The 2019 Cathedraticum has been a herald of appreciation to the marvelous work God have been doing in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu and beyond.
The month long event came to a climax with Enugu Deanery observing her own today, Friday, 12th April, 2019 in it usual grand style at the Holy Ghost Cathedral Holy Child arena, Enugu.
Speaking at this year’s Cathedraticum, The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. C.V.C Onaga maintained his charge to the faithful to leave a positive life of emulation as enshrined in the teachings and the recorded testimonies of the life of Jesus Christ.
Bishop Onaga who spoke on the topic ‘Holy actions and not just Holy words’ beckoned on Catholic faithful in Enugu and beyond to stand out as the light of the world. He opined that the life of a Christian should be best seen in what he does not just in what he says.
His Lordship further advised the gathered faithful on healthy living while extolling the humility virtue and leadership qualities of the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. His Lordship however called for positive living amongst all for a healthy life and a healthy society.
The 2019 Enugu Diocese Cathedraticum will best be remembered for coming at the time when the state recorded a new feat as one of the few states that has recorded little or no violence in the last general election which was widely characterized as one of the Nation’s most violent election in recent time.
However, this year’s Cathedraticum is coming on the heels of the unfortunate incident that befell the Diocese when it lost her Priest, Late Rev. Fr. Clement Ugwu in the hands of suspected kidnappers few weeks ago.
However, the diocese has more to thank God for and this was unequivocally shown in the way they gave in appreciation to God and to the leadership of the church in the diocese in her good works of evangelization.
